January 1, 2019 CPT Code Changes for ABA

Karen Lee

New CPT Code Changes

On January 1, 2019 there will be changes to the existing Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes used for billing of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. These codes were approved because of a code change application submitted to the American Medical Association (AMA) CPT Editorial Panel in 2017.  These codes are broken down by Assessment and Treatment Levels and are a direct result of trying to ensure more quality service and determination between treatment levels of Autistic children.
